Yes, the bathroom has a separate shower and a free standing roll top bath in the master bedroom.

How large is the garden area?

Highland Coach House has a very large wild garden and we've been improving this over the course of the past two years. It is enclosed and a very private space which sits to the side of the coach house - you'll see the entrance steps on the left hand side of the photograph on the main picture on our homepage. We've recently added a large decked area with garden sofas creating a lounge area plus there is a dining table for 6 people. You'll find a fire basket here too. You'll also find some armchairs at the front of the coach house which are perfect for relaxing too especially in the evening sun. We get very little wind at the coach house and this area is often a little oasis of sunshine! There are lots of walks, forest trails etc around the estate. There is a particularly nice two hour walk at the end of the glen road to a waterfall.

Is the property detached?

No, the property is attached to another property and is part of three properties that are adjoining, all cottages belonging in the past to the Scatwell estate. The coach house is the large two storey property on the left hand side.

Is there a map in the property?

You'll find the maps on the kitchen wall helpful for getting your bearings!

How close are the nearest shops?

There is a small local store ten minutes away in Contin where you can buy limited supplies and the daily papers. A large Tesco 24 hr shop is 15 mins away in Dingwall, this also has a petrol station. There are several convenience shops in Beauly too.

What about Fishing in the area?

We recommend the local angling club - Loch Aonachie Angling Club to organise all things fishing locally on the local lochs and on the River Conon. Permits can be obtained at Contin Filling Station about a 10 minute drive away. You could also try Highlandfishing.net or alternatively Alba Game Fishing for a premium experience with an Orvis endorsed guide - please contact Stewart Collingswood via their website for further information.

What about eating out?

Yes, we would recommend a visit to Beauly approx. 15 minutes away where you'll find a lovely Deli, Corner on the Square. It's one of the top 50 in Britain in The Independent Poll. You'll also find The Old Village School shop and café here which is well worth a visit. The Red Poppy restaurant in Strathpeffer is also recommended. There are a number of take away options in both Dingwall and Beauly.
